Commerce operations for growing Shopify brands

A better-run Shopify operation.

Proper Commerce helps growing product brands identify operational gaps across the storefront, catalog, sales channels, tracking, shipping, and launch process—then implement the right fixes and establish a more reliable way to operate.

Fixed scope. Clear deliverables. No revenue guarantees.

Local changes travel. The operating method checks what connects before anything moves.

The operating problem

The store is live. That does not mean the operation is under control.

A broken destination, conflicting product data, unreliable event, shipping rule, or untested theme change can turn into wasted traffic, customer confusion, and launch-day fire drills. The hard part is understanding what connects to what—and fixing it without creating the next problem.

Traffic is running, but the measurement is not trusted.

Products are live, but channels disagree.

The theme changed, but no one owns the release.

The launch plan lives in messages and memory.

One operating view across the systems customers experience as one brand.

Diagnose → implement → operate

Start with clarity. Add implementation. Keep the operation reliable.

Each stage is valuable on its own. The Audit is the default starting point because it establishes the evidence and priorities before implementation is sold.

01 / Diagnose7–10 business days

Commerce Operations Audit

See the whole operation before deciding what to change.

A structured review of the storefront and the systems around it, with evidence, priorities, and a practical 30/60/90-day roadmap.

  • Current-state scorecard
  • Evidence-backed findings
  • Top three priorities
02 / ImplementUsually 2–3 weeks

Focused Commerce Sprint

Resolve one high-priority outcome through controlled delivery.

One defined operational outcome, implemented through scope, backup, build, approval, testing, release, and handoff.

  • Current and target state
  • Controlled implementation
  • QA and verification evidence
03 / OperateInitial 90-day term

Fractional Shopify Operations

Create operating continuity without another full-time hire.

Ongoing store governance, launch readiness, monitoring, QA, and prioritized improvement through a defined monthly cadence.

  • Monthly store-health review
  • Prioritized operating backlog
  • Planned release cadence

A controlled method

No quick fix before the problem is understood.

Enough structure to change safely. No extra process for its own sake.

  1. 01

    Diagnose

Establish the current state across Shopify and the systems connected to the customer journey.

  2. 02

    Prioritize

Separate facts, risks, assumptions, and decisions; then rank work by consequence and dependency.

  3. 03

    Implement

Define one outcome, its boundaries, owner, approvals, rollback plan, and acceptance criteria.

  4. 04

    Verify

Test affected journeys, record the evidence, and confirm what changed without overstating the result.

  5. 05

    Operate

Maintain a practical cadence for store health, launches, releases, documentation, and next priorities.

No revenue or conversion lift is claimed while measurement remains incomplete.

Selective by design

Built for brands that have outgrown winging it.

Usually a strong fit

  • An active Shopify product brand
  • A meaningful catalog and existing customers
  • Multiple apps, tools, or sales channels
  • Recurring launches or operational friction
  • Willingness to use secure access and controlled approvals
  • Ability to invest at least $2,500

Probably not the right fit

  • A pre-revenue idea without a live store
  • The lowest-cost theme task
  • Paid-media management
  • 24/7 emergency response
  • Guaranteed growth expectations
  • A major ERP, headless, or enterprise replatforming program

Practical questions

What founders usually want to know first.

Why start with a paid audit?

A storefront symptom can begin in product data, tracking, theme logic, an app, a sales channel, shipping, or process. The audit pays for the work required to determine what is actually happening and leaves you with a roadmap you can use whether or not Proper Commerce implements it.

Is implementation included in the audit?

No. The audit includes investigation, evidence, priorities, and recommendations. Implementation is separately scoped so the cost, dependencies, and definition of done are clear.

Can you guarantee higher sales or conversion?

No. Revenue and conversion depend on traffic, product-market fit, pricing, merchandising, creative, market conditions, client decisions, and other factors. Proper Commerce commits to the stated diagnostic, implementation, testing, and operating deliverables—not a guaranteed financial result.

Do you replace our developer, agency, or marketing team?

Usually not. Proper Commerce can coordinate with existing specialists, clarify ownership, and identify where a developer, analyst, email specialist, or another expert is needed. The goal is to make the work function as one operation.

What access do you need?

Access depends on scope. After an agreement is signed, the minimum permissions required are requested through Shopify Partner collaborator access and named user accounts where possible. Shared owner passwords are not requested.

Do you work with Shopify Plus?

Potentially, when the scope fits and does not require a large enterprise replatforming or specialized architecture program. Complex Plus work may require a partner agency or specialist.
